COVINA - Christmas has come early, or late, for a Covina neighborhood that is being used as the setting of a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Covina resident Ronda Forgette's 5-acre mansion is being used as a backdrop for the sequel to Hallmark's seasonal television movie, "The dog who saved Christmas."

The movie stars Dean Cain, who played Superman in the television series "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"; Elisa Donovan, who made her start in the film "Clueless"; and Shelley Long of "Cheers" fame.

This will be the fourth movie in the series.

Film crews filmed the slapstick comedy at the home for about two weeks, transforming the 1950s Covina estate into a cheery Christmas location. They wrapped up shooting last week.
